Seymour Still Not In Oakland

This story gets stranger by the day...

"Richard Seymour [stats] still hasn’t shown up in Oakland, and the Patriots [team stats] aren’t talking about it. Coach Bill Belichick said he couldn’t speak about the Pro Bowl defensive end because “we don’t have the rights to Richard.” The NFL has signed off on the trade for a 2011 first-round draft pick and Seymour is on the Raiders’ 53-man roster. The defensive end just hasn’t arrived, and Oakland coach Tom Cable has indicated the issues are with the Patriots (Boston Herald)."

There have been crazy rumors going around about this. Ranging from Belichick trading Seymour to a shitty team, because he was one of the few players that doesn't hang on his every word, to rumors that Seymour is just refusing to go to Oakland. The real story is probably that there is some small money hangup between Seymour and the Patriots. Cable said that Seymour has spoken to him and said he is fine with playing in Oakland, but I somewhat question that. As for the whole Belichick sending him to a bad team....complete bullshit. There just isn't another team in the NFL dumb enough to hand over a 1st round pick (which will most likely be in the top 10) for a DE who hasn't made a Pro Bowl in 2 years.

We will keep you updated on when Seymour finally makes his way to Oakland...
