"Red Sox knuckleballer Tim Wakefield might be ready to start Saturday's game against the White Sox. Wakefield, slowed by a bad back, threw a 25-pitch bullpen session before Thursday night's game with Tampa Bay. The right-hander, 11-3 with a 4.12 ERA in 18 starts this season, hopes to pitch this weekend, but said the decision rests with team officials. Manager Terry Francona said the Red Sox will wait until seeing how Wakefield feels Friday before making a decision. Junichi Tazawa is currently listed as Saturday's probable starter (Sportsline).'
The Sox desperately need this guy back. Tazawa was never supposed to make it to the pros this season, and even though he had some luck, it is over and he is getting rocked. With Beckett looking shaky the Sox really need a guy that can come out and give them 6 strong innings, because right now the only one who can is Lester (sometimes Buchholz). We will keep you posted...
