I want the Sox to not overpay or sign one player this offseason. I was caught up in the moment earlier, I freaked out, and now that I breathed a little bit, I can see things more clearly. I'm not going to start my "Fire Theo" chants until after next year. Next year is what matters, that's when Roy Halladay will actually be a free agent, and it is pretty obvious that Felix and the Mariners aren't getting a deal done figuring they are 60 million dollars apart, so he might be easier to get. If the Sox actually wait this year, and get Lugo, Papi, and Lowell off the books that will give them 34 million dollars to play with. Let's face it over paying for Bay, Holliday or Lackey isn't going to put the Sox past the Yankees. I would rather have our young guys get more time in the bigs and take the wait and see approach.
