Celtics @ Lakers: Game 1

There is so much history between these two teams that you would have to write several books to fit it all in. I am sure ESPN and the other sports news networks will beat that story to death, so lets just focus on tonight's game.

Rondo vs. Fisher

This is a joke right. Rondo is going to light this guy up. The only thing that scares me a little is that Rondo does like to gamble on defense, and when he does Fisher does have the ability to drain shots. Still, Rondo is too fast, and too good for Fisher.

Advantage: Celtics

Allen vs. Kobe

Yea, obviously Kobe wins here, but if Fisher is getting lit up you might see Kobe cover Rondo at time. If this was to happen you would see Allen light it up (remember the Cav series). Still, Kobe is the best in the game and you have to give it to him.

Advantage: Lakers

Pierce vs. Artest

To me this is the most interesting matchup of the Finals. If Artest can contain Pierce then the Lakers would have a nice advantage, as the last time these two team met in the finals no one could stop Pierce. But with Pierce playing as well as he is right now, and ever improving 3 point shooter, I think the Celtics got the advantage.

Advantage: Celtics

KG vs. Poopface (Gasol)

Gasol is the better offensive player at this point, but KG is a lot more physical (when he wants to be). I think KG is going to be all over Gasol after getting man handled last series by the Magic. KG also just got a weak off, so I am expect to see the same bounce in his legs we saw early in the playoffs. Also, Gasol is soft.

Advantage: Celtics

Perkins vs. Bynum

Personally I think Bynum is the better player, but he is too banged up right now, and is still complaining about his knee. I am not sold that he is going to even make it through this series, so the advantage has to go to Perkins. My only worry is that Perkins will be an idiot and get a technical which would suspend him for a game.

Advantage: Celtics

Here are some other things you should know...

- Things weren't looking so great for Rasheed Wallace earlier in the week due to his back spasms. He was held out of contract drills Monday in practice. He didn't practice on Tuesday. The good news is that he was back at practice yesterday, and all the reports I've been reading say he looked good. Sheed has played great defense in these playoffs and the Celtics need him at 100%.

- Bynum's knee was drained earlier in the week, but it didn't help as Bynum told reporters that he can feel the fluid back in his knee.

The Celtics will win this series over the soft, west coast queer Lakers.
