A's @ Red Sox Preview
Boston has been red hot lately winning 8 of their last 10 including the last 4 in a row. A major reason for their turn around is the play of David Ortiz, who was named AL player of the month for May. Ortiz is hitting .393 with eight homers and 22 RBIs over his last 18 games. Still, he might not be playing today, as Brett Anderson is on the hill and Ortiz has been terrible against him (0 for 7).
Going against Anderson will be Tim Wakefield, who had a terrible start last time out against Kansas City letting up 9 runs in just 3 2/3 innings. The good news is the Wake is 3-0 with a 2.10 ERA in his last five home starts against Oakland.
Still, the Sox have their work cut out for them today, as Brett Anderson is flat out filthy. He is 2-1 on the season with a 1.88 ERA, and is a lefty, something that can cause problem for the Red Sox.
I wish I could say I have faith in the Wake, but not today, and not against a player like Brett Anderson.
A's win 8-2
