118 Celtics, 116 Knicks

It may not be a "rivalry" but it was a hell of a game.

Another gutsy win for the oft injured Celtics, and no matter what team has been around Paul Pierce during his time in Boston, the same last play has always been consistent. Give it to Paul Pierce in an iso situation and get the hell out of the way.

Paul Pierce drilled a 14-foot jumper over Amare Stoudemire with 0.4 seconds left to beat the Knicks 118-116 and extend the Celtics winning streak to 11 games.

Of course it didn't go without controversy though.

With .4 seconds left, off of an inbounds pass Amare Stoudemire had a clean look at a wide open three and nailed it. However, the ball was in his hand as the buzzer went off and the basket got waived off.

Speaking of Amare, the kid is fucking good. Coming out of Steve Nash's shadow in Phoenix, Amare is killing it with the Knicks and is a legit MVP candidate. He finished with 39 and 10 last night and has a streak of scoring over 30 points for 9 straight games, two away from Shaq's record.

Even though this barn burner went our way the Celtics defense was pretty non existent. They let up 50 points in the paint and no one seemed to even cover Amare the whole game.

Rondo turned his ankle in the third quarter and looked to be done for the game. But of course this kid is tough and saw the game through. However, even before that he was playing awfully gimpy. He was hesitant, his explosiveness wasn't there, and really just looked in pain. He finished with a double double 10pts and 14asts, but he also turned the ball over 6 times, and multiple times was seen arguing with Doc when Doc was asking him if he needed to come out. No question the kid is a warrior, but he needs to realize it's an 82 game season. Even though it will most likely be a loss, I really want him to sit tonight against the Hawks.

Either way, great win.
