Parcells Saves Tony Sparano's Job
"According to Michael Lombardi of NFL Network, he’ll remain in Miami because of the Big Tuna. Lombardi says Parcells, who stepped down from his post as the Dolphins’ football czar prior to the season, has convinced Ross to stick with Sparano (CBS Sports)."
There was a lot of talk that Sparano was going to be let go, but it seems (at least for now) he has been saved by his buddy Bill Parcells. Yet, we also found out today that the Dolphins are going to be looking for a Offensive Coordinator that has head coach experience. That leaves us with two obvious choices; Josh McDaniels, and Gary Kubiak if he is let go.
So, it seems Sparano will start the year as the head coach of the Dolphins, but he will be looking over his shoulder if one of these guys are brought in. Whoever is the coach will have a lot of work to do. Henne proved he is not the answer at QB, so they are either going to need to bring someone in, or start from scratch once again by drafting one. Most likely they are going to lose Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown, so they will also have to deal with that.
