The Big Puma is on a tear this season, 22 homers 70 RBI’s and batting a cool .348. Also stole 14 bases, a definite contender for NL MVP.

2B- Chase Utley
Tied for the Major League lead in homeruns (25) with teammate Ryan Howard. Utley is making a case for the NL MVP award to stay in Philly.
Understudy: Dan Uggla
3B- Chipper Jones
Chipper has been flirting with .400 all season, and showed that he still has the power with 18 homeruns. Although Chipper’s average has fallen to .375, he only has 40 strikeouts in 288 at bats.
Understudy: Alex Rodriguez
SS- Hanley Ramirez
In his third full season Hanlito is showing off his 5 tools. He is on pace for a 40-40 season, this is something we should start getting used to.
Understudy: SS is thin this year, Jose Reyes.
OF- Josh Hamilton
89 RBI’s at the break leads the majors. The Comeback Player of the Year would under mind what Hamilton has done so far. MVP sounds more appropriate.
Understudy: Carlos Lee
OF- Grady Sizemore
After getting off to a slow start, Sizemore quietly has 22 homeruns and 21 stolen bases. Good thing the Indians will be nowhere near the playoffs this year.
Understudy: Ryan Braun
OF- Carlos Quentin
The 25 year old, Stanford Alum has powered the white sox into first place in the AL central. Quentin has a team best 21 homeruns and 65 RBI’s.
Understudy: Milton Bradley
SP- Cliff Lee
Lee is 11-2 with a 2.43 ERA. After going 5-8 with an era north of 6, he has turned it around this season and has been the most consistent AL pitcher at the halfway point.
Understudy: Brandon Webb
SP- Tim Lincecum
Physical anomaly, he stands at 5’11, yet throws his fastball consistently at 96. Lincecum is 10-2 with a 2.66 ERA and will most likely start the all star game for the NL.
Understudy: Ervin Santana
RP- Carlos Marmol
One of the better relievers in all of baseball, Marmol has recorded 70 strikeouts through 51 innings this season.
Understudy: Matt Thornton
RP- J.P. Howell
Former starter turned reliever, J.P. Howell has been lights out for Tampa Bay. He is 6-0 out of the bullpen with a 2.73 ERA.
Understudy: Dan Wheeler
CP- Francisco Rodriguez
Only two homeruns in 39 innings of work. O yeah, he also leads the league with 35 saves.
Understudy: Jonathan Papelbon
