Richie Sexson Released

It's about time. The Mariners are obviously starting their rebuilding process. Sexson has always been a poor hitter but the past 2 seasons have been dreadful for the slugger. In 2007 he hit .205 with 21 homeruns and 63 rbis and in 74 games this year he is hitting .218 with 11 homeruns, and 30 rbis. Sexson was signed to a 4 year deal in 2004 and never lived up to expectations. In 2005 hit 39 Homers with 121 rbis and in 2006 he hit 34 homers with 107 rbis but had a combined .263 batting average. He will probably be picked up as a back up for some team but he is a terrible baseball player.
