This rumor kind of shocked me...
"The Detroit Tigers are looking to trade right-hander Edwin Jackson to clear a little payroll space, reports FoxSports.com. Jackson is arbitration eligible for the second time and is due to a significant raise from the $2.2 million he made in 2009. His resume for such a raise is solid, including an All-Star appearance this past year. The site wrote that there are no ongoing negotiations at this time and that the Los Angeles Dodgers could be an ideal trade partner for Detroit, suggesting George Sherrill as the return (ESPN)."
I am a big Edwin Jackson fan, and think that he is a great #2 or #3 pitcher for any team. If the Sox aren't able to make a big deal for Halladay or Felix, and lose out on Lackey, then this would be a great option. The Tigers could use some bullpen help, so a deal that had Delcarmen and Wagner might not be too bad of an idea. Not sure how true all of this is, but certainly something that has sparked my interest.
