More Sox Activity
Amid speculation that the Red Sox are making a major push for Roy Halladay, Boston also reportedly has sought medical records for starter Kelvim Escobar and reliever Rafael Soriano.
Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports that the Red Sox might take a look at Escobar, who has been plagued by shoulder problems and has not pitched since 2007. Soriano took over as Braves' closer last season, but could be used in a set-up role in Boston.
Silverman adds that the Red Sox will at least "kick the tires" on Ben Sheets and Rich Harden. ESPN
I like it. I love Kelvim Escobar and think he would be an extremely productive spot starter/ long reliever, Rafael Soriano would fit in nicely where Billy Wagner was and I wrote how I love Halladay earlier. It wouldn't surprise me either if we ended up with Sheets and/ or Harden if we miss out on a front line pitcher.
