Minnesota Vikings Moving After 2011
"While we can't say exactly where just yet, we do know from an article in the Minneapolis Star Tribune that the Minnesota Vikings will not be playing football at the Metrodome past the end of their current lease, set to expire after the 2011 season. This is a bold stance to take, but comes as the team struggles to secure public financing for a new stadium in Minnesota. If the new stadium cannot begin construction somewhat soon, there's a chance that the team could head out to Los Angeles to play in the stadium whose development was recently accelerated by Arnold Schwarzenegger, but which remains teamless (ESPN)."
This could get very interesting. The Vikings have been pushing for a new stadium, but the public will not pay for it. Since LA is already going to build a stadium this could be the team that makes that move. I don't like it, because Minnesota has great fans, and LA never seems to really care about their teams. In the end, it is about money, so I guess this is possible.
