Westbrook Still Out?

"In spite of his return to practice last week, Brian Westbrook's timeline for a return to game action is still anyone's guess. On Tuesday night, Brian Seltzer of 950 ESPN Radio had word from an inside Eagles source that Westbrook would get "very little" work with the first team unit in practice this week, but did confirm that the back is truly "day-to-day." Moreover, the source said there was a chance that Westbrook could play this week against the San Francisco 49ers if his condition improves rapidly.

But the latest word is that head coach Andy Reid "gingerly acknowledged" Westbrook has not cleared the neurological tests related to his concussion, and the insinuation is that he won't be activated this Sunday (ESPN)."

It really sounds like he won't play this week, which is making me question what will happen to him after this season. Westbrook is going to make $7.25 million next season, and most likely he will have to rework his contract if he wants to stay with the Eagles. If he doesn't I think Westbrook will be cut. Another team would take a chance on him, but for nowhere near that amount. It is amazing how fast a career can change in just a year...
