Not good news coming from the Red Sox clubhouse today, as reports are suggesting that Beckett will not be back until after the 4th of July. Beckett who has been on the disabled list since May 19 with a sore back, was told not to throw for at least 10 days. Putting Beckett at least a month away from being ready to start his next game in the majors.
Wakefield will continue to replace Beckett, but the Sox are going to need this "ace" back on the hill if they want to make the playoffs. Hopefully all this time off will get him back on track and ready to go for the 2nd half of the season, because he has been awful so far this year.
