"Disconnect" Between Patriots and Brady
Brady made headlines a couple weeks back when he said that he can't be around as much as he used to because he has a family now. That whole thing really was taken out of context, and shouldn't have been a big issue.
Today there are reports that Brady and the patriots have had no connect about a contract after this season. Some people seem to think that the Patriots are a little upset with Brady, and maybe the two are growing apart. Others think that this is a story about nothing, and the Patriots and Brady like to keep everything quiet, so maybe we just don't know what is really going on.
I really don't see Brady playing for another team, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Patriots are waiting for 2 things.
1. The new CBA. How much can they give him without knowing what the cap is going to be next year? What is his worth?
2. Show what he is going to be. Brady is now going into his 2nd year after the knee injury, and the Patriots probably want to make sure that he can return to be the player he once was (even though he is coming off his 2nd best stats season of his career).
So, I think this is all about nothing, and when the time comes they will sign him. Still, this will not be the last article you will read this offseason about this "disconnect".
