Baron Davis opted out of his 17.8 million dollar deal with the Warriors last night to test free agency. All signs point indicated he will re-sign but turning down almost 18 million dollars is pretty crazy.
I personally love Davis and believe he is a great player. I loved him when he played for New Orleans and has done a great job in Golden State. He brought Golden State to the play-offs last year where they beat the number 1 seed Mavericks and then almost brought them to the play-offs last year. It sounds like the Clippers are also interested in Davis.
Speaking of the Clippers.
Longtime PF Elton Brand is foregoing a 16.4 million dollar deal but is said to re-sign with the Clippers. With Corey Maggette opting out of his contract it will give the Clippers an extra 10 million to work with.
