Fuck You Scott Boras

Alright, I have been keeping an eye on anything baseball because other than basketball I dont really care as much about any other sport(which is illustrated by my posts). It was to my dismay to find out after waking up in a drunken stuper that the Sox allegidly droped out of the Tex bidding. Quite frankly I believe its all bullshit. From what I gathered from reports on Espn and others that the Sox where 20-25 million dollars off of the asking price. Scott Boras is asking for a contract in the range of 190-200 million for the switch hitter. Seriously, is he worth that much money? In my opinion he is not. Sure, he has won a few gold gloves but he hasn't won any MVP's or gone anywhere in the post season(mainly because Texas and Atlanta are a bunch of bums, and the Angels are our modern day choke artists).

It is said that the Sox have offered Tex a contract in the area of 160-170 million over 8 years, I do not think this is the case. I believe that they have offered the first baseman in the range of 180-185 million. In an age where long contracts and opt out clauses have become the standard, its a large possibility it is the opt out clause that has caused him from not signing with the beloved Red Sox.

Finally, I want to make a point. Texeira is a great first baseman who offers a team more than just numbers and output for a ball club, but he is not worth a contract that boarders 200 million dollars. I'm positive that there will be those who don't agree with me but its true. Look at the other top first baseman offesively in the game, mainly Puljos and Howard. These guys hit 40+ homers a year and drive in 100+ runs a year. To be quite honest with you all, Puljos is the only other player in the MLB that deserves a contract close to that of Alex Rodriguez, whether it be in anual salary or over a long term contract.

Thus, it seems Tex wants to be on the East coast with a team that wins and is set up to win in the long term that is in a big market. There is no other such place but Boston(other than New York, but they don't matter according to sources). Ultimately, this free agent wont sign before Chrismas because of his represntation. Scott Boras doesn't act in the best interest of his clients, he acts in the best interest of himself. This guy is make 15-20% of what his players make which is why he has had such a lucrative career as an agent. I believe that the Sox calling this fucks bluff will lead to more teams not listening to him and giving his clients offeres that are reasonable and at the actual value that the player actually has.
