"The Red Sox and the Mets were discussing a deal that would send catcher Brian Schneider to Boston, the Star Ledger in New Jersey reported.
Citing an unidentified source, the Star Ledger said the Mets would only do the deal if they were sure they could get a catcher in another deal or free agency. The free-agent catching pool is considered weak, with Jason Varitek and Ivan Rodriguez leading the pack. Possible catchers available via trade include Baltimore's Ramon Hernandez and Arizona's Chris Snyder, the newspaper reported."
I don't know much about Brian Schneider other than he calls a good game and has a wicked hot wife. I don't know if we need another guy who calls a great game but can't hit great, however it's not Jason "I Just Threw Up" Varitek.
