Rasheed Wallace scored 20 points and Rondo added 18 points and 13 assists and 9 rebounds to lead the Boston Celtics to a 91-88 preseason victory over the New Jersey Nets on Tuesday night in the first NBA game in the Prudential Center.
In a game where the big three didn't play, it was nice to see the two other leaders Rasheed and Rondo step up. Rondo didn't have a good night shooting at all 6-15 shooting, and 6-14 from the line, but made the necessary shots in order for the Celtics to pull this game off. And so you don't think that nobody cares about preseason ball, here is a quote from Doc about Rajon:
“He wanted to stay in, he begged to stay in,’’ coach Doc Rivers said of Rondo. “I said good, go ahead, let’s do it. [Rondo said] ‘I want to see if I can bring them back.’ And he did it.’’
It's awesome to see the leadership role he is taking. But it was a good game, just can't wait for the regular season to start.
