Carl Crawford To Get Long Term Deal?
Marc Lancaster of the Tampa Tribune writes that the Tampa Bay Rays are expected to pick up the 2010 option on the contract of outfielder Carl Crawford, but could there be a long-term deal in the offing?
Crawford told the paper that he "would like to be part of" the Rays' future.
"I hope we can get something done," he said. ESPN
Good, if anyone deserves a long term deal it's Carl Crawford. In his eight years with the Rays he has 1,290 hits, 654 runs, 85 homeruns, 504 rbis and 362 stolen bases. Pretty impressive stuff. As a Sox fan, I would love to see him go elsewhere because he has always been a thorn in Boston's side.
