College Football Picks

So last week I went a perfect 4-0, including my upset prediction of Michigan State over Michigan. I'm now 13-8 on the season. Here are my picks for this weekend's games:

Thursday 9:00 PM - ESPN
#21 Nebraska Cornhuskers @ #24 Missouri Tigers
Nebraska might be slightly underrated, with their only defeat coming on the road in a close battle with now #5 Virginia Tech. Mizzou, meanwhile, has feasted on Illinois, Bowling Green, Furman, and Nevada. Nebraska and the Black Shirts take care of business in this one.

Prediction:
Nebraska 31, Missouri 13

Saturday 3:30 PM - CBS
#3 Alabama Crimson Tide @ #20 Ole Miss Rebels
Alabama has something no other team in the country has: a win against a Top 6 team. Remember, they beat Virginia Tech. They have a very good case to be in the Top 2, and probably will be by next week, unless LSU leapfrogs them. Ole Miss has talent, and the game is in Oxford, MS. But Bama will win in a closer than expected game.

Prediction:
Alabama 27, Ole Miss 17

Saturday 8:00 PM - ESPN2
#22 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets @ Florida State Seminoles
GT is good, but in the Top 25 by default. Florida State is nowhere near as bad as their record suggests. They barely lost to Miami (who beat Oklahoma). They barely lost to #23 South Florida, and they barely lost to BC. They'll surprise the Yellow Jackets and win one for Coach Bowden in Tallahassee.

Prediction:
FSU 20, Georgia Tech 13

Saturday 8:00 PM - CBS
#1 Florida Gators @ #4 Louisiana State Tigers
LSU have won 31 straight home night games. In other words, Baton Rouge is a tough place to play in. Florida will either have no Tim Tebow, or a Tim Tebow with a head full of cobwebs. Either way, LSU is good enough to extend their night game streak to 33.

Prediction:
LSU 31, Florida 28

Saturday 8:05 PM - ABC
Michigan Wolverines @ #12 Iowa Hawkeyes
There's no logical reason to pick Michigan to win this game. I'm picking them because the Big Ten seems to enjoy fucking itself up. If Michigan beats Iowa, the top of the conference standings turn into cluster fuck. And that's what the Big Ten is best at providing.

Prediction:
Michigan 16, Iowa 14
