Thought it won't affect this season, but the Dodgers see a dark cloud on the horizon...
"The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Dodgers owner (and Boston guy) Frank McCourt has separated from his wife Jamie. Could this lead to the sale of the Dodgers as it did with the Padres? FoxSports.com's Ken Rosenthal confirmed the news and also reported that divorce proceedings are expected to be messy, with the Dodgers possibly hanging in the balance.
"They've already 'lawyered' up," a source told Rosenthal.
Jamie McCourt was promoted to CEO of the Dodgers in March, which made her the highest-ranking female in Major League Baseball. Meanwhile, former Red Sox PR impresario Dr. Charles Steinberg is reportedly leaving the Dodgers and could return to Fenway Park. Perhaps his decision is related to what is going with ownership (Boston.com)."
This could be a huge story. The Padres just went through something very similar to this and it ripped the team apart. If these divorce hearings really get messy expect the Dodgers payroll to go down over the next couple of season and if that happens expect Torre to retire or move on...
