Lester has had the better year and thus he gets to start for the Red Sox Game 1. Not only do I like this because Lester deserves it, but I like the fact that Beckett will have extra rest, which could be a great thing for him since he has pitched more innings this year than in any other. Buccholz will start Game 3, and I know this will be DP's rallying cry to fire Francona, but the bottom line is that it is the exact same as Lester starting over Beckett. Buchholz has had the better year then Dice-K, and that is what they are going to go with.
