Red Sox @ Blue Jays Preview
8-11....that's what the 2nd highest payroll in baseball gets you these days, but there's hope, there's always hope right?
The Sox have had a lot of problems early in the year. Ortiz can't hit, V-Mart has started slow, Beckett-Lester-Lackey hasn't done much, bullpen's up and down, injuries so on. Ok, we got that out of the way, so where is the light. Well, this team will eventually get Ellsbury back, V-Mart is going to hit, Lester-Beckett-Lackey will be better then this, and there is really no where to go but up.
This week we take on the Jays. They aren't a very good team, and basically as long as Vernon Wells calms the fuck down they should be able to handle this team. Tonight we get Beckett vs. Eveland. Listen, Eveland sucks. I know he is off to a hot start, but this guy blows, and the Sox have crushed him in the past (0-2 17.36 ERA vs. Red Sox).
Beckett has been pitching better. I know he let up 5 runs last game, but he was pitching well until Hamilton took him deep. I have seen sparks in him that he is going to shake this off, and I think tonight he really gets it going.
The Red Sox took five of nine in Toronto and 11 of 18 overall from the Blue Jays last year.
