Thats right. Fuck ESPN because they are brain damaged. I know I'm going to beat a dead horse with the whole Celtics trade, but I had a revelation last night while watching the game that really blew my mind. If you've read any ESPN articles in the last week about this trade, or watched any sports center, the biggest criticism about the trade is that the Celtics lost their size. Well first of all, simple math shows you that we gain sized. Last time I checked Perk was 6'11 and Krstic is 7 foot. Gained an inch there. Dont need to be a math wizard to figure out that one. Nate Robinson is 5'8 and Jeff Green is 6'9, gain a foot and an inch for all you retards out there that work for ESPN. So I'm not sure how this little debate got started, but simple arithmetic proves this to be null and void.
Then I thought some more...Maybe the Celtics play smaller because Perk plays bigger than he is. I still don't understand it but I guess I see where they are coming from. But if you watched the game against the Bucks, you saw something amazing. Something I almost wet my pants over. Sure the Celtics can play small. They slide Green to the 4 spot and move KG to the 5 to close out the game. I'm a fan of the line-up kind of like the James Posey days. But they can play big. Really fucking big. Bigger than any team in NBA. Why you ask? Because Jeff Green can play two positions, but so can Paul Pierce.
Last night at one point in the game the C's had a line up of Rondo, Pierce (SG), Green (SF) Garnett (PF) and Krstic at Center. Green gives people problems on the wing because he's so tall. Paul gives shooting guards problems because he's so tall. So now we have a 6'9 Paul Pierce playing shooting guard against an the league average of 6'4, and Green playing small forward against the average of 6'6. We gain 1 inch at the SF spot and 5 inches at shooting guard. Thats a big line-up. Imagine when Shaq comes back. Then we are freakishly large.
Think of all the variations of that line-up. We can put West in a pg and Troy Murphy in at center, then we have a 3 point shooting line up. We can put Rondo in a pg, baby at PF and KG at Center and have a small yet running line-up.
The combos are endless. The Celtics got anything but smaller. I'd say they got bigger, but more importantly, more versatile. Besides, Nate and Perk are hurt. So they are worthless anyway.
This will be the end of my trade talk. Fuck you ESPN and anyone who says we got smaller.
