So they basically signed him to a cap friendly 7 year deal. It's pretty amazing how the Rays work with their young talent. They have very cap friendly signings for most of their good players. The option-heavy extension mirrors those signed by Ben Zobrist (2 club options), James Shields (3 club options) and Evan Longoria (3 club options). They are really going to love that Longoria one.
