Rondo's Problems Caused By Pinkie?
Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo has not been himself recently, and now we know why. The Celtics' all-star point guard has been battling a right pinkie injury, one that Rondo said has been bothering him for the past couple of weeks.
"My finger, my hand went numb," Rondo said. "I was a little concerned about it, going back in."
Rondo eventually returned to the floor, with the finger taped up - something he said he has been doing for the past couple of weeks (Celticsblog)."
The injury won't keep Rondo out of the lineup, but I am having a hard time believing this is why ROndo isn't playing well. Maybe, it is affecting his his shot a little bit, but the thing I have noticed the most is his lack of explosiveness. He isn't going to the hoop and finding the open man like he was earlier in the year. This is making life a lot easier for opposing defenses, and it really brings down the whole Celtics offense.
The Celtics really need to get Rondo 100% before the playoffs. They are running out of time to do so, and his game seems to keep slipping. If they don't figure this out the Celtics won't being doing much of anything in the playoffs.
