76ers Playoff Bound?
If you are like me, you have paid little to no attention to the 76ers this year. They lack a standout superstar, stud rookie, and talent. Andre Iguodala, who has averaged just below 20 ppg, anchors them and is the best thing happening in Philly these days. Currently, the Sixers are the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference, and are closing in on the Washington Wizards (6th seed). Essentially, they are just a team of overachievers, which is surprising because Andre Miller (who has started every game this season) and Samuel Dalembert aren’t known for being overzealous. Philly appears to be ready for playoff basketball; they only have one loss in March (Celtics). The funny part of this story is that they have been this successful without franchise staple, Allen Iverson. This is their first full season without “the answer”, who’s Nuggets as of right now, are on the outside looking in on the Western Conference playoffs. Should the Sixers hold their position as the 7th seed, they would most likely face Detroit in the first round. Although the 76ers starting five is decent enough to play with many of the top teams, their bench is full of hacks and stiffs.
Prediction: Bounced out in the first round, better luck next year.
