Xavier - Georgia Wrap

This was easily the most exciting game of the early set. Georgia came in with a lot of hype due to the whole 4-12 conference record yet SEC Tournament Champs thing, not to mention playing twice in one day last Saturday. Xavier really had no hype other than being a top 20 RPI team all year long but they were expected to win with relative ease.
There is a reason they play the games and Georgia showed everyone they came to play. The Bulldogs looked incredibly sharp during the entire first half and Xavier looked like they stopped drinking 2 hours before the tip. Hey, DC's a fun city...just ask Eliot Spitzer.

Georgia came out strong to start the second but you could feel the momentum shifting. Xavy tied it with just under 8 to play, banged a 3 on their next possession and never looked back. Josh Duncan was clutch for the Muskateers, especially at the line. On the short end of the stick, Sundiata Gaines was a stud for the Bulldogs.

As an aside, Craig Bolerjack and Bob Wenzel have emerged as the sleeper team for this tournament. Bolerjack is the perfect mix of Gus Johnson and Jim Nantz. I'm looking forward to the rest of their games.
