College Football Picks

My glorious hot stretch came to an end last week as my picks went 2-3. That brings me to 15-11 on the season. Here are my selections for this week's games:

Thursday 7:30 PM - ESPN
#8 Cincinnati Bearcats @ #21 South Florida Bulls
Cincy has BCS dreams, but USF has been a pleasant 5-0 surprise this year. USF's schedule has been cupcake city so far, but St. Petersburg on a Thursday night is a really tough place for a visiting team. I think this is an ugly game, with USF taking advantage of some Bearcat mistakes.

Prediction:
USF 20, Cincinnati 14

Saturday 12:00 PM - ABC
#2 Texas Longhorns vs. #20 Oklahoma Sooners - Dallas, TX
It sucks to be a Sooners fan this year. It sucks in a slightly different way to be a Texas fan. The Longhorns are elite, but their schedule isn't. A soft non-conference slate would be no problem for Texas so long as OU and Texas Tech were Top 15 teams. Neither of them are. Texas wins this, getting a semi-quality win, because OU will kiss the Top 25 goodbye for a good long while.

Prediction:
Texas 35, Oklahoma 10

Saturday 12:00 PM - ESPN
#21 Iowa Hawkeyes @ Wisconsin Badgers
Iowa is ripe to fall. They barely beat Northern Iowa. They barely beat Arkansas State. They barely beat Michigan. They will not go up to Madison and beat the Badgers. Wisconsin got exposed last week, but they'll be at home in one of the toughest Stadiums in the country.

Prediction:
Wisconsin 24, Iowa 20

Saturday 3:30 PM - NBC
#6 USC Trojans @ #25 Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Notre Dame sucks. Usually USC struggles against teams that suck. But people don't want to admit that Notre Dame sucks. So USC will bring its normal 80% effort, which will be more than enough to bring a potato famine to South Bend and annihilate the Irish.

Prediction:
USC 42, Notre Dame 7
