Eli Manning To Play Sunday?

"Eli Manning says he'll play on Sunday against the Raiders, but it might be painful, according to someone who was in the same position. Retired NFL QB Boomer Esiason battle the same injury -- a swelling of the thick tissue on the bottom of the foot, known as plantar fasciitis.

Esiason told the New York Post he expects Manning to play, but, "It's probably one of the reasons I quit, because my feet were killing me. ... You get up out of bed, and if you have wood floors or you're in the bathroom on the tile, every time you put your heel on the ground it's almost like there's a knife going through the heel."

Playing with such pain, it's hard not to see Manning's performance drop off if this injury persists (ESPN)."

This makes zero sense to me. The Giants are playing the Raiders, and no offense to Raider Nation, but the Giants could win this game with an autistic kid playing QB. So, why not rest him? This is a very tough league and everyone knows there are very few "automatic wins", but this is one, and if Eli plays I think it is a big mistake...
