Jon Lester's quest to reach 20 wins, 15 scoreless inning streak and Cy Young hopes all ended abruptly on Thursday when the White Sox tagged him for 8 runs in 4 innings. It's a shame as he would have been the first Sox lefty to win 20 games in 20 years.
It all came crashing down in the 4th inning when Paul Konerko hit a grand slam. Konerko connected for his 39th homer of the season and the ninth grand slam of his career. The fourth-inning shot off Lester made it 6-2 and Dayan Viciedo chased the Red Sox ace with a two-run homer in the fifth.
I've heard Dayan Viciedo is here to save baseball.
The only bright spot was when VMart hit a homer too, but other than that, it was an ugly game.
