Avery Bradley To Get More Playing Time
The Celtics have lost Delonte West for at least a couple of months, and that could leave a big hole in their second unit. Right now, Nate Robinson has been picking up the slack, but with Rondo just coming off injury (hamstring/foot) you have to wonder if we are going to see more of 1st round pick Avery Bradley.
The Herald brought up this point today, and I found it somewhat interesting. The Celtics haven't liked playing their draft picks over the past couple of years. Well, basically since the Big Three showed up. Lester Hudson, Tony Gaffney, Oliver Lafayette, Bill Walker, JR Giddens, ect. Even guys like Semih Erden were drafted a couple years back, and is just finally getting some time.
What hurts Bradley is that he missed all of training camp, most of the preseason, and Doc says he only knows about 10% of what he needs to. Yet, no one questions that he has the physical tools to step up. It might take some time, but I think Bradley is going to end up being a key member of this team. What Rivers really likes is that he has the ability of being a shutdown guard, which could be key after losing Tony Allen this offseason.
Whatever happens either Nate Robinson needs to play more consistent or someone else is going to need to carry that 2nd units PG position.
