The Bruins have been the best defensive team in the NHL so far this season, but they are going to put to the test tonight, as the Lightning have a lot of offensive talent. We all know Lecavalier, and St. Louis, but it has been Steven Stamkos who has been the Lightning's most dangerous player. Although Stamkos was held without a point for just the third time in 20 games in a 2-1 win at Buffalo on Saturday, the 20-year-old center leads the NHL with 19 goals and 34 points. Luckily the Bruins have a guy named Chara who is good at shutting these types of players down.
Tampa Bay is riding a 3 game winning streak, while the Bruins are 3-0-1 in their last 4 games. Everyone knows that is in thanks in large part to Tim Thomas, but players like Lucic have also been stepping up. I am not sure who will be in net tonight, but I think either way the Bruins should be in good shape, especially with David Krejci back.
I expect a big night from the Horton-Krejci-Lucic line tonight, and the Bruins defense is good enough to hold off Tampa Bay's offense.
Bruins win 5-2
Player of the Game: Horton
Game starts at 7:30pm on NESN.
