Ron Washington Agrees To 2 Year Deal
This was a good move and Ron Washington earned this extension. Many coaches failed at doing anything in Texas before Washington. Washington's managerial style reminds me a lot of Terry Franconas of 04, his strength is in his ability to motivate a team and allow his veterans to run a loose, but focused clubhouse. The Rangers had a lot of fun in 2010 much like the Sox of 04. But when it was time to play, they played for the exception of the World Series. That clubhouse reflected Washington's personality a lot.
His teams have improved every season since he arrived, going from 75 wins in 2007 to the 90-win mark in 2010. He's the only Rangers manager to win a playoff series and helped guide the club to the World Series. Pretty impressive.
