Boston.com "The Celtics have made contract offers to two forwards: Their own free agent, James Posey, and Clippers free agent Corey Maggette, sources told the Boston Globe. The most the Celtics could offer is the mid-level exception (about $5.8 million), and it's doubtful that they could sign both players. The terms of the offers were not disclosed."
I probably don't think Maggette will come for a mid level exception of 5.8 million dollars but it would be fun to have him. He has always been a good player (22.1 points and 5.6 rebounds last season) and it looks as if he will not be a Clipper next year. If he wants to win you have to sign with Boston. Maggette would fit in perfectly in coming off the bench when the offense is placid.
As for Posey, I love him but if he wants us to sign him for 5 years, we have to let him go. He was a huge part of the championship run but he is not a Maggette type player.
