Struggling Boston Red Sox right-hander Brad Penny asked for and was granted his release Wednesday night. Newly-acquired reliever Billy Wagner will take his spot on the roster.
"I asked for my release and I got it," Penny said, according to the Boston Herald. ESPN
Looks like the Red Sox plans of signing veteran pitchers to one year deals didn't work at all. First John Smoltz was a fucking disaster, and then Penny showed some promise, however he was getting crushed it seemed like every outing. I like Penny, I do, but he just sucks. At least he banged Alyssa Milano.
