Top 25 Under 25: #14 Derrick Rose

Born: October 4, 1988

Here is a guy who could be at the top of our list buy the time he gets around 25. He is only 20 years old right now, and is quickly becoming one of the best PGs in the NBA. There was little doubt about this kids talent. He only played 1 year in college, and he was able to get a championship with Memphis. All he did is lead them to an NCAA record 38 wins that year, while averaging 15 points, 4.7 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game.

Rose was selected first overall in the draft by the Chicago Bulls. It was crazy that he ended up on the Bulls since they only had a 1.7% chance of getting the #1 pick (yes many conspiracy theories around that one). Rose did not disappoint averaging 16.8 ppg, and 6.3 assists, but the coming out party was in the playoffs against the Celtics. In his playoff debut against the defending champions Celtics, Rose recorded 36 points on 63% shooting, 11 assists and 4 rebounds. The Celtics ended up winning the series when Rose was one upped by a man who will be on our list at some point.

Still, if you watched that Celtics vs. Bulls series you would know that Rose is the real deal and is going to be one of the best players in the NBA for the next 10+ years.
