Patriots Cut Kevin O'Connell

"The Patriots have made a surprising move at quarterback today, informing backup Kevin O'Connell that he has been waived, according to a league source (Boston.com)."

This is very strange, but if you have been watching the Patriots during the preseason it shouldn't be completely unexpected. O'Connell has been nothing short of horrible during the preseason. O'Connell struggled in the team's preseason win over the Redskins on Friday, throwing two interceptions. Even with a possible injury to Brady (more on that later) Belichick must be thinking that O'Connell is a lost cause. The reason that it is so surprising is because this guy was a 3rd round pick in 2008, and the Patriots are already giving up on him. This means it look like Walter and Hoyer are the Patriots backups...
