Chambers To The Chiefs
The veteran Chambers, released Monday by the San Diego Chargers, was claimed off waivers by the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday.
Coach Norv Turner said Monday the Chargers released Chambers because of the emergence of Malcom Floyd and the need to sign a linebacker because of an injury to Tim Dobbins. Because Chambers was claimed, the Chargers won't have to pay the $2.25 million they owe him.ESPN
Chambers is a tough guy to figure out. I think he has all the skill and talent to be a great or effective starter in the league, however he hasn't lived up to that for the exception of 2005. Chambers was a moot point in San Diego, and did nothing on a very explosive offense. I understand the cutting of Chambers due to the emergence of Malcolm Floyd. I don't think his presence will hurt the Chiefs, but I really don't know how he will effect the terrible Chiefs' offense.
