I would think so, but here is what ESPN is saying...
"Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz told the Boston Herald that he wants to finish his career with the team, but that he doesn't think 2010, the final year of his contract, will be the end of his tenure as a baseball player.
"I think I still have another three or four good years in me," Ortiz said.
If Ortiz is to earn another multi-year contract he's going to have to get back to the form that made him an MVP candidate earlier in the decade, but if the Red Sox aren't as confident as Ortiz that he can do so, 2010 might be the end for Big Papi in Beantown (ESPN)."
For the first time in a long time I have no idea what the Sox are going to do this offseason. I think they could use another front line starter, but obviously there is also something wrong with that lineup. How much more can you get out of Ortiz, Lowell, and Drew. I think anything can happen, and by anything I mean Ortiz could be part of a blockbuster deal. I am sure they wouldn't mind doing that, but I really don't know what his value would be on the open market. Anyways, no matter what I think this is Ortiz's last year in Boston.
