Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald suggests that the Bosox might ask the Tigers, who are in cost-cutting mode, about a deal for Cabrera. Silverman cites an AL source who says the Tigers would want a young and proven talent such as Jon Lester along with some top prospects in return (ESPN)."
I think this could actually happen, but it will not be for Lester. There is 0 chance of the rest Sox trading Lester, but maybe a deal like Buchholz, Bowden, and Lars Anderson could get it done. The Tigers are having money problems and are even shopping around guys like Granderson, so maybe there is something to this rumor...
