The Penguins started the season red-hot, with an 11-2 record. But injuries have caught up to them (sound familiar), and they're 1-3 in their last 4. Nevertheless, this is still a good test game. With the Bruins missing Savard and Lucic, the Penguins minus Malkin, Talbot, and Gonchar; the injuries have almost evened out for both teams.
The Bruins are fresh off a nice 4-2 win over Buffalo, one that saw the power play unit reemerge with 2 goals. The return of Byron Bitz brought some new life to the B's, who might also have David Krejci back tonight.
I think the Penguins are where the Bruins were a week ago, whereas the B's are on their way up, Pittsburgh's simply trying to tread water. I also think Tim Thomas is utterly superior to Marc-Andre Fleury.
Prediction:
Bruins 3, Penguins 1
