There are rumors going around that Theo is going to bring in Beckett and V-Mart before Spring Training to try to get their extensions all done. The rumor is that the Sox will offer Beckett the same contract Lackey got (five years, $82.5 million), and if he wants more they will let him walk. I am fine with this. I know Beckett hasn't been as sharp lately, but it is so hard to get good starting pitching, and if the Sox are willing to spend that much then I am all for it.
There is no word on what the Sox are going to offer V-Mart, but unless they are going to somehow gran Mauer they are going to need to resign this guy ASAP...
