31 Saints, 28 Vikings (OT)

Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints

Awesome. One half of my Superbowl predictions came true, but more importantly the Saints are in the Superbowl for the first time in franchise history. This game had a lot of media attention going into it, and boy did it live up to it.

The Saints defense literally took this game away by causing 6 fumbles (3 lost) and 2 picks. But the biggest mistake of the game obviously belongs to Brett Favre who was having so much fun out there he didn't realize throwing a ball across his body wasn't a bad thing. Brett Favre who ended his career with the Packers by throwing a pick on his final play against the Giants in the NFC Championship game, and on the New York Jets by throwing a pick on his last play in that uniform, and now he gets to mull over retirement again while having his last pass in purple being a pick too. Brett Favre was having a bad ass game until then. He was knocked on the ground constantly, and was able to come back, he even threw for 310 yards.

Now to the Saints. They didn't have the best game plan for this game to be honest with you. Their defense did the job, but they played very timid at times. The most prolific offense in the NFL this year often played ultra conservative by running on first and second, and sometimes even third downs. I wasn't a big fan of that at all. Drew Brees threw 3 TDs, but had under 200 yards. Devery Had another TD which was sweet.

Either way, awesome game.
