Celtics 86 Pistons 92
Something is broken for the Celtics, and it's not just the absence of Kevin Garnett. The Celtics once again had a lead at half time, but then came out flat in the 3rd. This isn't the first time, and it is becoming a big problem. The Celtics are a bad team in the 3rd quarter.
Looking at the stats you would really question how the Celtics lost this game. Rondo and Pierce both ad 21 points, Sheed put up 16, and even though Allen struggled again you would have thought they would pull it out. Still, there is no life in this offense. The "team" aspect seems to be falling apart. Pierce is trying to do too much, Allen can't get his game going, but there are not many games that you'll see the opposing team put up more assists then the Celtics (but the Piston did).
Boston was ahead by five with nine minutes left, then Stuckey had 6 points in an 11-0 surge that set the Pistons up for the victory. Stuckey??? Come on Celtics, this is a guy you have to be able to shut down.
I am really nervous for the Celtics. They look old and flat lately. I hope the return of Garnett will bring some life to the team, but that is asking a lot from someone who has been out as long as Garnett, plus there is no guarantee that he will make it though the rest of the season.
To make matters worse a fan called Glen "Big Baby" Davis a "fat boy" and told him to lose some weight. Davis responded with an expletive. expect Big Baby to be fined or maybe even suspended a game.
