I have to admit when I first saw this headline I thought... No way this kid is from the US, but he is...
"The 13-year-old from Pasadena, California, hopes to become the youngest person ever to climb Mount Everest.
KABC-TV in Los Angeles reports that Jordan, who has already scaled six of the seven highest peaks in the world, will climb Everest with his father and stepmother.
"This is all his mission. This is all his idea. It's all his timeline. We're just packing the bags, chasing him around the world. It's pretty fun," Jordan's father, Paul Romero, told the station.
Nepal charges each climber $35,000, according to KABC (CNN)."
This kid better have some crazy sponsors, because $35,000 to climb a mountain seems ridiculous to me. I am really surprised this parents are letting him do this, I mean that is really going out of your way to risk your kids life if you are willing to pony up $35,000 bucks on top of that fact you are letting him climb a mountain that has killed so many people.
Well I guess I'm rooting for him, but I'd have to say that if I had been one of the people who had already climbed this mountain I would be hoping he doesn't make it. Yea, I'm like that, and it kind of kills the whole idea of this being the hardest thing ever if a 13 year old can do it.
