2010 MLB Preview: New York Yankees
2009 Record: 103-59
Lineup:
1. SS-Derek Jeter
2. DH-Nick Johnson
3. 1B-Mark Teixeira
4. 3B-Alex Rodriguez
5. C-Jorge Posada
6. 2B-Robinson Cano
7. CF-Curtis Granderson
8. RF-Nick Swisher
9. LF-Brett Gardner
What can you say...they are stacked. This lineup might be the best in the league if Granderson has a bounce back year. A-Rod, Tex, Jeter, and Cano make the middle of this lineup, and they should once again be tops in the league in scoring. Posada is a huge fag, and pisses on his hands.
Pitching:
1. LHP C.C. Sabathia
2. RHP A.J. Burnett
3. LHP Andy Pettitte
4. RHP Javier Vazquez
5. RHP Phil Hughes
Closer: RHP Mariano Rivera
Great pitching, but I still think they have the 3rd best rotation in this division. CC is a stud, and is great at eating innings. AJ Burnett is what he is, he will be up and down, but get a shitload of strikeouts. Hughes I think will be very good, but I question Pettitte and Vazquez. Vasquez really struggled last time he played in pinstripes, and Pettitte is just another year older.
Overall:
The Yankees will be in the playoffs again this year, but I don't see them getting 100 wins again this year. The Rays should be a better team, and the Sox are always right there. I really question their bullpen getting to Rivera, and I am not completely sold that this is a unbelievable rotation.
2010 Record: 96-66
