Red Sox @ Twins Preview

The Sox will get their first look at the new Twins' ballpark (Target), and let me tell you no one from the Red Sox will miss The Metrodome. I have wondered if this new park would actually hurt the Twins, since it was a huge advantage to play somewhere like The Metrodome, which had so many little quirky things (white ceiling, odd bounces from shitty turf, ect). Still, it was something that had to happen, and I think the rest of baseball will thank them.

Anyways, back to the game. Today we will see Lester go against Pavano. Pavano has been good from the Twins, and was very good in his first start this year going 7 innings letting up only 1 run on 6 hits with 6 K's against the Angels. Lester on the other hand had a start he'd rather forget giving up 4 runs in just 5 innings of work against the Yankees. The Twins lineup is not nearly as strong as the Yankees, but this is still a very good hitting team.

The good news for Lester is that there is a lot of lefties in the Twins lineup, so he should have a good advantage against even their best hitters (Mauer, Morneau, Span, Kubel, Thome - all lefties).

Ellsbury won't be in the lineup, but JD Drew's neck is fine and he will be in right field.

Game starts at 4:10pm on NESN.
