Yankees @ Red Sox Preview

Putting last nigth behind them the Sox will finally get to see Lackey on the hill. He will be going against an old nemesis of the Red Sox Andy Pettitte. Pettitte has had an amazing careers against the Sox going 18-9 with a 3.74 ERA. Lackey on the other hand has not had great success against the Yankees going 5-7 with a 4.66 ERA, but that was with the Angels, so whatever.

Boston built their team around defense, and even though Scutaro's error killed them last night, I still have been seeing flashes of what they talked about. They seem to have a good feel for working with each other by the way they have been turning double plays, and I do believe in this defense.

The hot topic today is Ortiz, who could be in for another rough night with a lefty on the hill. Francona has already announced that Ortiz will start tonight. I am very interesting to see how Ellsbury does against a lefty, because last time against CC he went 0-5, and you just can't have that from a leadoff hitter.

Hopefully Lackey comes out strong, as both of the Sox starter have so far not made into the 6th inning. I worry about Boston's bullpen when it has to be stretched out over anything more then 3 innings, so they could really use Lackey going 6-7 innings, which will be very tough against this Yankees lineup.

Game starts at 7:10pm on NESN.

Here is a look at the Sox lineup tonight...

Ellsbury LF
Pedroia 2B
Martinez C
Youkilis 1B
Ortiz DH
Beltre 3B
Drew RF
Cameron CF
Scutaro SS

Pitching: RHP John Lackey.
